As I start writing this post, it is about 1:30 AM or so, and it’s really dark outside, as in keeping with nighttime and so forth. Around this time six years ago, the Mom was tapping my forehead in an attempt to wake me up to tell me that it was time to go to the hospital because her water had broken.
And given that six years ago, I had just gone to bed about 45 minutes before she started tapping me on the forehead, the response was “go back to bed”, because the projected arrival date of Liam Wallace was August 08, and not July 08.
So it’s now six years later, and at 6:08 PM later today, the Micro-Dragon will hit the big six. Six years old. Six.
The Mom has been planning this a while now, and we even went to the market to buy this stuff because this year’s theme refreshment is strawberry.
This tiny little bottle of extract of strawberry was made from five pounds of strawberries.
That wasn’t impressive though, as her preferred to spend his last day of being five doing the following:
Yep, that’s him using a piece of sourdough baguette to form a model of the Terran solar system, while telling the parentals that it would be so cool to go to Japan to get the Bandai Doubutsu Sentai Zyuohger Zyuoh Cube 7 8 9 Doubutsu Gattai DX Tousai Zyuoh Set. You can look that up if you want, but it’s a combinatorial toy that Bandai just happens to sell piecemeal.
But back to the actual birthday (today!). There was a snake, and giant escargots, and something that brought Richard Gere to mind. No, not some sort of weird animal kingdom rampage, but the birthday party entertainment, which we fueled with pizza (!) and a whole lot of sugar.
The Mom did a nice job with this year’s theme refreshment:
Tastes like strawberry.
See? He’s six!
